Training 2008-2009

We train on grass

At Old Whitgiftian Football Club we train on grass... because we play on grass! Artificial surfaces just aren't good enough I'm afraid. The training area is also fully floodlit for when the dark nights are upon us.

View Training Attendance(Updated - Wednesday 26 November 2008 @ 2338 hrs)

Floodlit training starts at 7.30 pm and finishes at 9.00 pm every Wednesday evening.

Old Whitgiftian Clubhouse ,
Croham Manor Road,
South Croydon,
Surrey, CR2 7BG.
Tel: 020 8688 3248.

Nearest Station: South Croydon (Network Rail, 30 minutes from London Victoria, 10 minute walk).

Directions from station: Turn left out of station into Croham Road (B243) and follow along to Croham Manor Road (fifth right).

Please get there early to ensure that we start on time. Both team managers are usually present and this is your opportunity to get fit, meet up with your potential team mates and stake your claim in one of the sides for the coming season.

Changing facilities and hot showers are available each week, and the bar is open for those who want to wind down and enjoy a chat with team mates after each session.

These sessions are for you and are paid for as part of your annual subscription. Training remains the best way for you to get fit (and stay that way), demonstrate your commitment to the team, get to know your team mates and to secure your place in the starting line-up.

All training equipment is provided (balls, bibs, skill goals, cones, space markers etc)... you just need to turn up with your basic kit and a pair of shin pads... and get on board!
