Saturday, 22 December 2007 saw the inaugural football match between OLD WHITGIFTIAN AFC and a representative WHITGIFT (UNIVERSITY) XI.

For a number of years the Rugby section have played a similar match on the closest Saturday to Christmas, and this year for the first time both the football and hockey sections are also holding matches against teams comprised of ex-Whitgift schoolboys.

In what we too hope will become a traditional Christmas fixture, the emphasis is on ensuring everyone involved - whether playing, organising or watching - enjoys their day at the Club and the schoolboys in particular get to play some sport, meet some of the Club's members, learn more about who we are and what we stand for... and also get to share a few drinks with your friends back from university for the holidays.
